Canon 5D MkII 27/11/08
I first read about this camera about a month or so back on WIRED, and was quite impressed by the technical specifications. But after actually seeing what this camera is capable of – via a video brought to my attention by my good friend Spencer Sternberg — I’d have to say that ‘impressed’ is a slight understatement. Below is a video filmed by Guardian photographer Dan Chung entirely on a production Canon EOS5DmkII using manual focus. The film was shot an edited in about twelve hours directly after picking the camera up from a Beijing camera store and charging the battery.
Stunning.

Tin&Ed 17/10/07

If you haven’t clicked the link in the previous post, I suggest you use this one! My friends Tin&Ed have recently updated their website which now houses an amazing array of work, including their ongoing work for Crumpler, which I have to say is some of my favorite (make sure you watch the Cinema Advert).

Set in a disused Welsh slate mine, UVA created a LED installation that was synchronised with the audio to great effect. There are also some photo documentation of the making of the clip on their blog.
New Zealand and a Lomo 19/09/07

As promised, I’ve uploaded a few shots from my little trip to New Zealand last month. All these shot were taken on a Lomo LC-A, which I’ve had for about 7 years (and is still working well). I’ve been meaning to get a digital camera for a while now, but just haven’t got around to it, so for now I’ll have to keep getting a CD of images included with my prints. Although, I could always try this …
Corey Arnold 09/08/07

The gallery over at Now Now has been updated with some amazing work by Corey Arnold, who is a commercial fisherman and fine art photographer based in Portland, Oregon. I don’t know if it’s the effects of growing up in a coastal town, but I can almost smell the sea air in some of these shots …
